*blows nose*
Jul. 3rd, 2009 10:58 pmI have been a little inactive for the past week, because I had my mid-year exams. *shakes cramps out of hand* Man, I need to get new pens, I think two or three have run dry already. In the Tamil Literature Paper 2 alone, I had to write five essays in three hours.
Due to the H1N1, aka swine flu, outbreak, we take our temperature before every exam. Now, last night I was ill - I had a high fever of 38.4 degrees and a pounding headache, but it went away eventually with Panadol. I woke up this morning with a horrible sore throat, but otherwise was relatively fine, and did not have a fever before the first exam of the day, Tamil Lit Paper 2. Before Chemistry, though, when we took our temperatures, mine was 37.7 (if it's above 37.5 you're having a fever) and remained that way through three tries. Under the eyes of half the J1 cohort in the Hall, I had to leave the Hall with my bag and a thermometer in my hand. *blush*
In the holding room downstairs, they took my temperature again but wouldn't let me see, and questioned me. They might have let me return and do the paper, until I mentioned that I had a sore throat. They looked at each other and it was like, 'Dun dun dunnnn...", you know, that dramatic organ music before Dracula or whoever appears in some black-and-white B-grade horror movie.
Long story short, I was sent home. Dad came to pick me up, and we stopped at the doctor's. I have H1N1 symptoms, apparently, but it's very similar to normal flu anyways. So the doctor treated it as normal flu and I got medicines for that. Right now I'm sipping homemade herbal tea to soothe my throat; thankfully the headcahe's gone away and so had the fluctuating fever - for now. My nose is beginning to cause trouble, though. *blows nose*
Thankfully I will be allowed to retake my Chemistry paper next week. And this way I get more time to study!
On a lighter note: I have quite a few Good Omens fics written but am procrastinating about typing them up. :( Perhaps tomorrow, if I am feeling better.
