I'm already vegetarian, and I am not the sort who goes around telling people about the blood on their hands as they eat meat, or demand that they not eat meat in front of me. Heck, I've cooked chicken for my dad. I'm fine with people's choices about their meals. I just think that if there's a way to make it a bit more humane, that method should be adopted. Torturing something just because it's going to end up dead anyway is wrong. I mean, everyone ends up dead, but that doesn't mean one tortures or performs experiments on someone on Death Row or dying of a terminal disease, whatever comic books say. :P
PETA is asking KFC to eliminate the worst abuses that chickens suffer in the factory farms and slaughterhouses of its suppliers, including crippling injuries because of cruel breeding practices and the overuse of drugs, having their throats slit while still conscious, and being dunked into tanks of scalding-hot water while still alive and able to feel pain.
