Hey guys!

Today it was Teacher's Day here in Singapore. After a half-day of celebrating and Bhangra-dancing (don't ask) at Anderson Secondary, I went to my primary school, Northland Primary. I miss it, it was so much better than ASS (Anderson Secondary School). All my old teachers were very happy to see me, and the principal wanted to know how my mom was. My mom is known to most of my teachers because she's been down quite a lot of times. At first it was because I was being bullied, and then because I was often in trouble, then because I fell ill with dengue fever during the PSLE (Primary School Leaving Examination - it's really important if you want to enter a good secondary school) and couldn't do it, so she had to appeal to Northland and the Ministry of Education to use my Preliminary Exam aggregate score onstead of the actual PSLE, which could be extra low (177, actually) since I only did my English and Maths papers. I fell ill on the morning of my Tamil paper.

Actually, 177 points is not bad, considering that I was already running a high fever while doing those two papers and still got straight As. So the MOE considered that, my acedemic record, the appeals sent in by my family, and my form teacher, and my high Prelim score, and allowed me to get a score of 255 points, which is among the top 10% percent in Singapore and what I might have gotten if I'd been well.

So... to get back to Teacher's Day, due to my dengue fever and me always being on stage to recieve prizes or answer quizzes, almost every teacher in Northland (and there are a LOT) knows me even if they haven't taught me. So for two hours I was just walking around the school, chatting to many teachers and just walking down a corridor and reliving old and fond memories. I kept laughing out loud when walking past favourite old haunts or old classrooms, I was just so happy to back at my second home. I was there for six years through the good and the bad, and even though my parents wanted to transfer me when the bullying got out of hand in Primary Three and Four, I said that I'd rather stay, and in Primary Five and Six the bullying had mostly stopped and I'd become one of the most popular girls in school (being a cheerleader helped). There were just so many memories there.

I bought snacks and lunch at the stalls in the canteen for old time's sake. My favourite snack (mashed potato with warm succulent gravy and baked beans) and meal (hot steaming mee rebus) were out, though, so I settled for some stuff I'd always wanted to try back in my schooldays.

Right now I am munching on delicious dried slices of haw and checking my e-mail and posting at a forum as well as replying here.

Well, better go! Someone please reply!
